Action to be taken by Person discovering a Fire

1.     Break Alarm Point Glass and Sound Alarms

2.     Dial 999 on any External Telephone and ask for the Fire Brigade

3.     Inform Residents by dialling a 3 figure number on the internal telephone system
      - Allow only 1 minute per telephone call before proceeding to the next call and
        commence with No 215 in the Coach House or No 211 in the main House
        Dialling numbers 201 to 218 and 0 if there is time.

4.     Remind Residents of the meeting point at the Fountain.

5.     Zone numbers on the Panels are Flat numbers
 

How the Fire Brigade or any other Emergency Service is to be called and the Responsible Person:-

1.       Dial 999 by Landline or Mobile Telephone - whichever is available
2        By Person discovering the Fire
3.       Do NOT call the Emergency Service out unnecessarily

 

Fire Warning System

            System Panel in Main Entrance Hall of Main Building
            System panel in Coach House Entrance Hall
            Alarm Sounders in both Buildings
            Flats 16 and 17 in the Courtyard have their own alarm system but should be informed

Evacuation Procedures

Evacuate Buildings and assemble by Fountain in the Main Car Park
 

Key escape routes

All Main Stairwells are protected to a minimum 30 minute standard by the Fire Doors
 and Plaster walling
The door from Flat 1 to the Main Hall although protected to a 30 minute standard is
 not classed as a Fire Door but should be physically closed on exiting the building.
 

Assembly Points

1. By Fountain in the Main Car Park

2. In front of Flat 1's Garage Door which is out of the way of any emergency service
 

Arrangements for safe evacuation of vulnerable persons

Dial 999 for the Fire Brigade and pay particular attention to any infirm Residents who may
 require additional help.
 

Fire Fighting Equipment available

Fire Extinguishers will be found on all floors - these are maintained biannually by Wight Fire Company
Smoke and/or Heat detectors and Emergency Lights are fitted in all Flats and stairwells and also tested
biannually.

A Tap and Hose can be found by :-

The Fountain in the main Car Park
The Sea gate
The Pool House

All these water points are serviced by the same pipe and therefore it is important that to maintain pressure only the point by the Fountain is used initially until the Fire Brigade access the Fire Hydrant.

The main Fire Hydrant is in Augusta Road close to the Wellington Lodge entrance
 

There are no High risk areas as all areas are in a 30 minute protected Zone
 

Liaison with Emergency Services

The Person discovering the Fire is responsible for alerting the Fire Brigade and as many
 Residents as he or she can.

He or She will be the responsible Person for liaising with the Emergency Services on their arrival.
 

Employees

Any Resident who has Employees on their Premises will be responsible
for their welfare
 

Fire Drill

Sounders (Bells) will be tested biannually by Wight Fire Company Limited and the dates and times
of testing will be logged and kept by the Management Company

There is a minimum of 30 minutes of Fire Protection throughout the complex
